Essentos Connect · S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform demands multimodal traceability. Essentos Connect already delivers it.
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform is the Spanish public platform for multimodal logistics digitalisation. Every actor in the freight chain needs to exchange traceability data with it. The S.I.M.P.L.E. capability inside Essentos Connect resolves that connection quickly and precisely on the Essentos C-CORE architecture, for terminals in Spain, Europe and the United States, without heavy development.
What S.I.M.P.L.E. requires and how we resolve it
We translate your operation into the format and semantics S.I.M.P.L.E. needs. Automatic, with no manual step.
We validate every data point before sending. If something is missing or inconsistent, it is solved before it reaches the platform.
We record every exchange with time, criteria and evidence. Auditable from the very first send.
From handling S.I.M.P.L.E. manually to having it resolved
Pulling data by hand, translating it into the S.I.M.P.L.E. format, sending it, waiting for confirmation. Each actor with their own email, spreadsheet and version of reality. Errors discovered late. Traceability rebuilt after the fact.
Data flows from your system to S.I.M.P.L.E. and back automatically. Validated before sending, translated into the correct semantics and traceable on every exchange. No manual step.
How do we resolve the connection to the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform?
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform needs your terminal to exchange multimodal traceability data with the rest of the chain. Essentos Connect ships the capability that resolves it: takes data from your operation, validates it, translates it into the S.I.M.P.L.E. semantics and handles the exchange in both directions.
If you already use Essentos, the S.I.M.P.L.E. capability is activated as a native part of Connect. If your terminal has another TOS or ERP, Connect runs as a standalone module plugged into your system. Either way, S.I.M.P.L.E. is resolved.
Validation before every exchange
Connect checks that each data point is complete and consistent before sending it to S.I.M.P.L.E. If something is missing or out of place, it is resolved before the send.
The result:
-
Fewer rejections caused by incorrect data
-
Fewer errors recorded on the platform
-
Incidents resolved before, not after
Automatic translation to the S.I.M.P.L.E. semantics
S.I.M.P.L.E. has its own semantic model, taxonomy and messaging format. Connect translates the data from your operation into that common format automatically.
Your team keeps working with their usual system. Connect makes sure S.I.M.P.L.E. receives the right information in the right format.
Full traceability for every exchange with S.I.M.P.L.E.
Every data point sent to S.I.M.P.L.E. and every status received is recorded with time, criteria, context and outcome. When an incident, an audit or a query from another actor comes up, the evidence is already there.
-
A record of every send with the validation that was applied
-
A record of every status received from other actors
-
Auditable evidence without manual reconstruction
What is the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform and why it affects you
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform (Simplification of Processes for a Logistic Enhancement) is the Spanish public platform for multimodal logistics digitalisation, promoted by Adif, Puertos del Estado and the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
Its objective: every actor in the freight chain (terminals, operators, ports, shippers) exchanges data in a common format with full traceability and interoperability between transport modes across Spain and Europe.
The question is not whether to connect, but how to do it without turning it into a long technical project. Essentos Connect solves exactly that.
Does S.I.M.P.L.E. apply to you? Identify your situation
S.I.M.P.L.E. is not just rail. It affects the entire multimodal transport chain wherever operational data is generated and consumed between actors.
S.I.M.P.L.E. gains value when connected to the full operation
Resolving S.I.M.P.L.E. is not just about sending data to the platform. It is connecting that exchange with the real execution of your terminal. With Essentos, that coordination exists natively.
Frequently asked questions
What is the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform? ▾
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform (Simplification of Processes for a Logistic Enhancement) is the Spanish public platform for multimodal logistics digitalisation, promoted by Adif, Puertos del Estado and the Ministry of Transport. Its aim is for every actor in the freight chain to exchange data digitally, traceably and interoperably.
What is Essentos Connect? ▾
Essentos Connect is the terminal connectivity software that links your terminal with the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform and other external systems. It manages data exchange, prior validation, semantic translation and traceability, native to the Essentos modular TOS or as a standalone module.
Can I use Connect without the rest of Essentos? ▾
Yes. Essentos Connect runs as a standalone module. If your terminal has a TOS or another system, Connect plugs into it and handles communication with S.I.M.P.L.E. If you also use Essentos, the integration is native and automatic.
Does Connect replace our current system? ▾
No. Connect does not replace your TOS, ERP or any existing system. It plugs into them to manage data exchange with the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform. Your terminal keeps running its usual tools.
How long does it take to connect to S.I.M.P.L.E.? ▾
Essentos Connect is built to be fast. The connection can be live in days, not months. Scope is defined with the terminal, the exchange is configured and the link is activated.
Is the S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform mandatory? ▾
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Platform is aligned with EU transport policy and the Spanish Ministry of Transport mobility strategy. It has been in production since November 2023 and adoption is growing. Being connected lets your terminal participate in the digital multimodal traceability ecosystem.
Does S.I.M.P.L.E. only cover rail? ▾
No. Although S.I.M.P.L.E. has a strong rail component, its scope covers every mode of transport: rail, maritime, road and the intermodal connections between them.
